Another new tenant for historic Antelope Walk as Court House Bistro joins the scheme

Antelope Walk welcomes the Court House Bistro to the Walk.  The business, owned and operated by award-winning chef Matthew Jeffries, offers a new dining experience to Dorchester.  Matthew, previously at La Gavroche, spent 4 years under Gordon Ramsey before setting out on his own.  The Court House Bistro offers ‘finer dining’; local produce, fresh ingredients and hearty homemade food with an emphasis on quality.

This historic location, previously the court of the infamous Judge Jeffreys, retains much of its original character.  Matthew has sympathetically refurbished the rooms ensuring they are light and airy and include stripped back original floorboards.  Comfy sofas are available for those looking for a delicious cup of barista coffee and a catch up, and for those looking to unwind after a hard few hours shopping – wine is served all day.

A hidden gem of Antelope Walk, The Court House Bistro can be found at 16a Antelope Walk and is currently open for brunch and lunch daily with an A La Carte menu served on Friday and Saturday evenings.  Dishes are updated weekly depending on produce.  Visitors to the Walk are encouraged to pop in for an evening cocktail (Fridays & Saturdays) or delicious meal and enjoy the ambiance of the historic court rooms.

Matthew Jeffries, Chef Proprietor at the Court House Bistro comments: “We moved into Antelope Walk just before lockdown so we’re so excited to finally be open and welcoming diners.  My vision for the Bistro was to offer delicious, homemade food, using local suppliers and seasonal produce.  There’s nothing pretentious about our offering, just good food well cooked and an enjoyable dining experience.

I really loved the history of the old court rooms and immediately thought that this would be a fantastic location for a Bistro.  Antelope Walk is a beautiful area of Dorchester and we’re excited to be here.”

The Court House Bistro is available mid-week for group bookings and private dining opportunities.
